I've found it incredibly smooth. The 1993's were Tange Prestige and this one has all the markings to be the same.

That is another route I was going to look at. Its all sort of going to depend on the tax refund.

Aaaaawwwwww Yeaaaaahhh!!! Looking really good there. I've always wanted to see the silver 5800 groupset on a C&V frame. Tell more about Stronglight crank and how it gets on with the 11 speed chain please.

This is your official request for more photos. That is sweet.

The stronglight looks way nicer than the current four arm shimano cranks.

Not as nice as many on here, but built up on a very low budget, and runs beautifully!

2x7, 46-36 crankset and 12-28 cassette. I really recommend this gearing for solo riding, I might be a bit undergeared in a really fast group ride.

A steel frame and 622/28 tyres make for a very plush ride. The bike even has room for mudguards with those bigger tyres. I think of it as a vintage Surly Pacer. Heck, I bet it could fit 622/30 off road tyres on it and do a bit of gravel grinding!

This is probably final incarnation until I decide to powdercoat or repaint the frame and maybe add a carbon fork..at which point I probably won't be allowed on C&V any more

Nah, that's not a big deal. Not like taking a photo with the bike in the small/small cross-chainin gear combination is...

And after I made sure to put the cranks at 3 and 9 o'clock. I'll never stage a photo right

The crank is very nicely built, but not exactly lightweight when accounting for the square taper BB. Shifting works well, though I suppose not quite as smooth as my other bike with 5700 105 and Shimano crank. Still, recommended. Crank was just 60 EUR, BB was 17 EUR. Alternatively, Shimano also has the RS500 crank, which looks a bit nicer than the 105 5800 crank, but not as nice as this one.

More photos after I cleaned it

It's a Tomas frame btw. Quite obscure. I've only found one other thread about the builder on these forums.

You won't see much improvement, if any, with a carbon fork, but that's a subjective subject. That Hard Rock Ironman is all business. Very nice.

That's great! I really wanted to know if one could use a different crankset than the shimano 5800 or RS500. I may consider upgrading to 5800 in the future. I would rather keep my 105 5500 crank if it will work well with the 11 speed chain and 11 speed front derailleur.

I ran this bike with a Shimano FC-1055 crank for a short time and shifting was excellent. But 52/42 does not mix well with a 12-25 cassette .

Meh. If she's like me, she rides 'stretched out' and likes the seat angled down a bit, especially with those low bars. If anything, I'd worry the seat is too narrow for her, if it's a swift or swift copy. But everyone's different.
