Anyone have a picture of a Raleigh front dynohub?

I bought a Superbe off of ebay and I am trying to hook up the front dynohub correctly. Can someone provide an up close picture?

Here is the bike:

Try this picture and if it doesn't answer your questions let me know and I will try and get you a better one. The hookup is two wires one to each terminal and as far as I know it doesn't care which wire goes where.

cranky old road - thanks for the link. Lots of info there.

wahoonc - thanks for the pic, but I can't see the hookups. Can you take an up close one? I will send you my email address in a pm so you can send a full resolution pic.

The system uses alternating current and literally, it doesn't matter which wire goes to which terminal. Nor is it directional so it doesn't matter whether the alternator is positioned on the port or the starboard side of the bike.

I have rotated the alternator on the axle so that I could try the terminals in front of the fork and so I couold try the terminals behind the fork. Again, that doesn't matter so it becomes a matter for your personal preference. I personally seem to like it on the port side and positioned "up" just sort of hiding behind the fork blade.

Thanks Aaron. Exactly what I was looking for.

On a side note, the plastic on my front lamp is almost completely yellow. Is it supposed to be this way or did the years do this?

Which plastic? The lens is supposed to be clear, the reflectors will lose their silver too. I am looking for a NOS reflector. I have a couple of the old lamps with glass lenses in them. You can try some plexi polish (the stuff designed for aircraft or boat windshields is what I use) to clear the lens up.

I think you can soak it in a cleaning solution and get it to improve. Try a mild bleach solution - like a squirt of clorox clean-up in a quart of warm water.

I was referring to the lens. It is currently yellow. I'll try cleaning/soaking it. If not, I'll go for the bug light look.

Outside chance the bike was in France? I have had several French bikes over the years that had yellow bulbs in them, required for "dipped beam" headlamps at one time...may still be for all I know.

i know it used to be for cars..... and i really liked the look of yellow bulbs... I think about 10yrs ago the law was changed... and now you barely see any cars with yellow bulbs anymore in france.
