Now I'm getting free Schwinns
The word has gotten around town, one of my neighbors showed up at my front door this afternoon with from what I can tell is a 64 Schwinn Breeze in Campus green. Its all there but in pretty dirty condition. This will be one to clean up and flip. It should make someone a nice little around cruiser. Why can't someone show up with an old Colnago or Bianchi for free that won't take a bunch of work to clean up instead of another Schwinn. Or better yet, Kpug if you get the co-op going I'll donate this bike to it.

Oh I love Schwinns they are pretty easy to work on and nearly bullet proof. However I am working my way up to one of those fancy vintage Italian jobs one of these days

SB, why would you need a "fancy vintage Italian job," when you already have a fancy Made in Japan job Schwinn? Schwinn never outsourced to Italy, me thinks.

1981 Super Sport S/P, main ride
Visiting for the winter, flip in the spring:
1984 Paramount
1991 434
1985 Tempo
And just came to visit yesterday, should sell quick:
1971 Super Sport 22" Lemon Yellow 'Ladies' (chrome fenders etc--in absolutely original low mileage just needs scrubbing condition).

I had the same thing happen when I expressed an interest in old cameras. All my friends and family were giving me boxes of old cameras that they had stashed away. So, I have a bunch of old Instamatics and Brownie box cameras. But occasionally there would be a decent 35mm SLR or rangefinder. Schwinn is kind of like Kodak in that everybody knows the name and associates the name with a quality product at a price the common person can afford.

I just came home from the dump with my second Kool Lemon Varsity and an AMF something (which is not worth much but has a nice rack and a cool front fender). I'll post pictures in the Dump/Tip Sticky.
