Think Pink.
I am tickled pink! Never let it be said that this isn't the best community on the internet. Today's mail brought me a very nice surprise - a bright pink B. Carré t-shirt to complement my pink B. Carré bike. Fellow C&V enthusiast and Right Coast Missourian @CV-6 has hooked me up in style!
Lynn, a great big thank you for the shirt. I totally owe you!

What a great bike!
If that frame were Lynn's size he'd be apoplectic.
Thank heavens it's my size.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Lynn was who originally outed this frame listed on eBay France to the CR group. I followed up on it and immediately pounced - really glad I did too. Although it was totally an impulse purchase, it's turned out to be one of my favorite riders.

Not with any degree of authority. Rear spacing is for five gears; the top tube lacks cable guides (it requires banded guides); the fork doesn't have a lot of the sort of "swoop" you tend to notice in earlier French bikes, and the geometry isn't as relaxed as, say, an early 70's PX-10. All of this is to say that my best guess is mid-70's. But I can be convinced otherwise!

IIRC back at intake the cantis gave rise to speculation that it might be intended for psycho-X. is shell a normal road height or is it higher than typical road? have you come to any conclusions regarding the idea?

Ha! More precisely, comparing color chips from my Pantone book to the actual frame indicate the frame is somewhere between Rhodamine Red and Pantone Pink.
@trailangel, those are wheels I had on hand. Quite frankly I never even noticed the difference in spoke count until now. I'm building new wheels over the winter for this bike though.
@juvela, I still have a feeling this was a cross bike. The BB is slightly higher than what I'd anticipate on a road bike of 70's era (though not by much.) Conclusions? Nothing definitive, really. What I do know is that it rides very nicely and that I love the color and patina.

LOL. Saw the thread title and knew you had gotten the shirt. My black shirt looks good, too. A plug for Chuck at VeloRetro is due.

Thanks so much for the shirt, and definitely a big plug for Chuck as well - the graphic looks very sharp on there.

One thing I should mention is that Mark did the Illustrator file work for the logos. (There is a Carré head badge on the front) He then gave me the file to do with as I pleased. So it was only fair to see that he got a shirt out of the deal.
