Can anyone tell me about this old Univega?
My bike that was just stolen had a chrome moly frame, and I don't want to buy anything heavier than that. I tried asking the seller if it was chrome moly but he didn't know. Any advice or suggestions?

Given the components, doubtful. Looks like a typical bike boom model & probably has stamped dropouts to boot.

Hello k.devin, my guess is that this bike seems to be a bit overpriced for what it is. The Suntour Seven derailleur was a lower end model.
Where are you located? It's possible that the members here could locate a nice bike for you if we know where you are. Welcome to Bike Forums (sorry to hear that your bike was stolen :( )... East Hill |
I'm in San Francisco. My bike was an Nishiki Olympic and too big for me but a very nice ride. Eventually I would like to buy a brand new bike, but can't afford it right now. I just need something to get around on for now that doesn't weigh a ton.

Size 50, last bike was 55, too big, I'm only 5'3, but I was comfortable on it.

I have a trek for sale I got from a yard sale a while back. i was gonna ebay it and try to get $225 or so out of it. If you pay for shipping ill let you have it for $100 just to get you back on two wheels
Its a 54cm with a shorter stem dont have the measurement off hand but I believe it to be shorter than a 90mm. No obligation just trying to help a fellow rider. Im in Maryland probably be like $75 or less to ship Specs can be found here http://www.vintage-trek.com/TrekBrochure1987.htm its a Elance 400D http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...oItalia012.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...oItalia013.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...oItalia014.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...oItalia015.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...oItalia016.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...oItalia017.jpg |
