Is the rainbow on the seat tube part of the Univega Logo? ...or does anyone know the meaning behind it?

I believe its part of the Univega logo....I have a sportour from early 80's with same logo.

The bad news is that this is a lower end frame (per the 'high tension steel'), but the good news is that it should make a great SS/FG. The paint looks to be in great shape too!

We'll hope that T-Mar wanders through and takes a look for you. Oh, is there a serial number anywhere?

ride26fast 12-05-07 05:17 PM

alright...the serial # is M7-A2079

AND I MEASURED THE SEAT TUBE TO BE 25.6 DONT KNOW IF THAT WILL GIVE IT A YEAR?

Based on the serial number, it is a 1987 model, made in Taiwan by Merida who also manufactured many of the mid-1980s Raleigh models. I don't have anything specific on this model but as East Hill states, it is entry level on the basis of the hi-tensile tubing, stamped dropouts and downtube cable stops for stem shifters.
