These days I wouldn't touch a basket case like that with a ten-foot pole, but that resto was my first step into C&V bicycling. Sure was a doozy.

One of those black madwagons, was the first bike I bought when I got back into bikes in 2003. Mine was odd though. It is oddly sized
and not the usual medium size like the one you found. The head tube looks the same length, but the top tube and stays have a high
upward arch to them. It's really tall in the seat tube. With the seat at leg extension height, it was pretty high off the ground, or seemed
to be. I could barely even touch the ground, or get going without kicking off first. Here's a pic in it's full glory as a rat rod cruiser.,,,,BD
Well, not quite full glory. I added one of those Electra saddles with the custom looking sititching after this pic. The seat was way down.

I liked the Madwagon frame. It was fairly light for a cruiser.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Think you saw the Peugeot down at the shop the other day... The Girl picked up a new Brooks and after we dialed in the ride I changed the cable housings leaving room for a basket.
Will be tearing it down and having it powder coated sage green, as per the lady's request.

I did see the peugeot at the shop, as well as a few other places in garneau. It looks really great! Nice work as always.

I'll add my Raleigh Sports rebuild to the thread. I began with a frame set I found on e-Bay. I had it blasted and powder coated semi-gloss black and then I built it up using parts from a '74 Sports that was too tall for me. I added some personal touches as well.

Here are my restorations...Still have a long way to go to catch up with everyone though!

I have to hunt for a before pic of this one.. a buddy dragged it out of his bosses garage and gave it to me. It was all dusty and covered in gunk. I gave it a complete overhaul and flipped it. (WAY to small for me).

Another one I just finished today, a Specialized Shock Rock 20 that sat hanging from a fence for 3yrs in a friends backyard until I asked for it. I put this together for a friend that is horizontally challenged and has not had a bike that she could ride since she was a kid.
She wanted to be able to go with us on some of or local rides but couldn't do it on a bmx bike as that's all she would fit on so I built this mini mountain bike for her. I changed out the little double crankset for a full size triple with a little longer crank arm then stock. I replaced the steel stem and flat bar with a nice alloy stem and alloy riser bars. I installed the 6 speed ratchet shifters and brakes off of a Trek 800 to replace the junk set of grip shifters and plastic brake levers along with new lined cables. it has come out nice and all that is left is for me to refit it to her. The Garfield valve caps are a joke as she loves him.

This a Raleigh Dash that I fixed up for a buddy of mine. I don't know the year, but I would guess early 90s. It began life as a hybrid, but after being in a cocoon for a while, it emerged a wonderful road bike.

Here's a repost from well over a year ago. It is the single most satisfying, dramatic before/after I was ever involved with. A friend and fellow BF'er came across a beat to death Paramount, and between his patiently combing the globe for just the right parts and me and a few others getting together for a build party..... well, see for yourselves:
