Yes, it is from 1980. I do have that FPL. The FPL was a steeper or shorter version of the regular FullPro, aimed at time trail and short stages. Frame is made with Champion #1. Regular FP uses #2. Detailing and quality of construction of both is very nice. The 1981 FPL has more aerodynamic features, like inner cable routing, flat aero fork, lean seatpost clamp and of course the complete DA AX groupset. Do have that one too. By 1982 there was the super aerodynamic FullPro A with drop shaped tubing (Aero Miyata in US). I do not have that one.

On the bottom of the real racing line up there always was a ProRacer in those days. DA equipped with a frame using Champion #2, except for the rear triangle and forks. It is in fact pretty much identical to the US Pro Miyata.

'80 FullPro L

FullPro-L

There is one on eBay right now:

https://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Koga-Miy...QQcmdZViewItem

Sharp eye will notice the differences with mine, like for example the vertical drop outs, bolt on front mech, somewhat different seat stays... That is because mine was a custom job. My FPL has also no chrome under the paint on stays and fork. Probably to keep it lighter and because it is less necessary to preserve a bike intended primerally for competition.

Again, it is 1980MY. Not 1982, like the seller eays.

Okay, thanks for the leads. Several Feedbacks saying bike never received. I would think twice before placing a bid.

Is the https://www.miyatacatalogs.com/ site still active? Or am I just experiencing a localized block?

It appears to be down. Hopefully it is just a temporary thing.

Here is a great site for checking just this type of thing.

There's a special place in bicycle heaven for a guy who would take the time to host a site. I wish there was a site for Merckxs.

As a more recent discoverer of the Miyata brand, let me say thank you for having posted those catalogs! Makes it so much easier to become more than healthily interested (ie, obsessed) with the brand. An invaluable resource!
