Removing stickers?

I'm trying to restore an 80's Fuji and the previous owner placed a bicycle license sticker over the spot where the Fuji Quad butted emblem should be on the seat tube.

Is there a trick to getting these off?

I have the same problem -- "diagonal" full-Reynolds 531 sticker covered by a San Diego County bicycle license on Capo #2. WHY do people so frequently do this? I have not tried this yet, but others have claimed success with a hair dryer.

I just took some reflector tape off my Carlton stays yesterday with a heat gun. Heat up the stickers, scape with your thumbnail, burn fingers, clean residue with solvent. But it worked!

I've had success with a hair dryer/heat gun and a plastic scraper (whether a putty knife or a credit card). I've also used GooGone in combination with those previous two to remove glue residue. It takes time and elbow grease, and what's under the sticker is likely to be affected (discolored paint or trashed decal), but you'll get that annoying decal off.

Thanks, I'll give the hair dryer a try.
