What about paying forward the less tangible and more valuable item... our time?
I have put a few forum members to varying degrees of inconvenience, which in at least one case was considerable. In compensation, I have only paid the favor forward. This is in the spirit of the endeavor, right?
Anyway.
I have a Campy fixed BB cup, Italian thread, the old "thick cup" NR style with the thread in the hole to drive debris outward. Just the single fixed cup; no other parts included. PM if interested!

Paying forward...
I have an 80's "Manta" Mixte that needs to be fixed up in Central Indiana. I'd be willing to drive up to ~ 50 miles from the Indianapolis area to meet someone who would like to give this bike some love. I'm not convinced I know how to ship a bicycle, much less that this one is worth it.

Wow, drive up to 50 miles! That is way beyond a generous offer. THose Huret Multito odometers are the best (non computerized that is). I have one on my commuter and not only does it work, it is completely silent. I hate the tick tick tick of the other odometers.

I'd like to relay a story about the previous owner of the bike.
My dad purchased it for my mom in the mid '80s around the same time as he purchased the Trek 520 he gave me. (pictured elsewhere in this sub-forum) My mom was the kind of person who if she could help someone else she would at a moments notice.
I appreciate the heads up noglider, that the bike could be sold for a reasonable amount of money. I also understand it's above and beyond to be willing to drive up to 50 miles to deliver the bike. At the same time I'd like to see the bike go to someone who will truly appreciate it. It's ok if you want to flip it, as long as you commit to selling it to someone who will ride it, and love it.

I know it's not much, but if anyone in the area wants some bike boxes, I've got two. One is in good condition, the other has a hole in it, but it would make good padding for the inside of the first one. I was gonna ship a bike, but ended up selling it locally.

Brakes, brakes, brakes!!!
New to a good home for the price of postage:
2 pairs of basic Dia Compe N500 brakes, nutted, reach about 55-ish, one new one new-ish, both with good pads. These were base level equipment on about a zillion bikes in the mid 80's. Excellent for flips, easier than de-rusting the ones that are already on there! CLAIMED!!!
Shimano 105 1050 series brake levers. I got these with crappy hoods, and replaced the hoods with these aftermarket ones that fit...not so well. Not awful & not perfect, but hey, they're operable brake levers with new hoods and that's not bad for free. CLAIMED!!!
Pair of Gipiemme short reach brake calipers, 42-52mm. New, and still have their new pads. I got these as part of a deal, have never used them. This is the series that had so many of the lever pegs fall out and -surprise!- the lever peg on one of these fell out as well. Not a problem and already fixed with a 3mm allen head and thin nut. Works fine, great brakes. CLAIMED!!!
BTW, Mr. Seppa- the shippng price I gave you on the Gipiemme calipers was for US mail, Canada will be more. I'll ship tomorrow, but shoot me an e-mail at rccardr@cox.net so I can let you know how much more you owe me. Thanks!

I have an Easton 2x 700c wheel shipping box WITH 4x plastic hub end caps. Free for picking up on Cape Cod.
Also have free simplex derailleurs/stem shifters off my late 70's UO8, and center pull brakes off the same bike. Derailleurs functional but the front has surface rust. Prefer not to ship.

One 36h Araya Aero 1 World Champion 700C tubular rim with some brake wear but in otherwise nice condition--comes with glue residue--to anyone who needs it for the cost of shipping. I need a square taper crank set to make a fixed/single speed out of an old GT Windstream frame I have. The original crankset had 3 chainwheels riveted together. Also need canti brake levers for that. Wonder if you have any in good shape. Thx
