Dude you don't need a group, you need a lifetime movie contract.

I can vouch for WNG's troubles, since we have stayed in contact from the beginning of this hellish nightmare this crazy psychopath is putting him through. I try to be one of his friends telling him to keep a positive attitude but it is hard when all I want to do is go there and drop this nut down a mine shaft. AZ laws are pretty messed up, when you beat the charges that were brought up against you but they still treat you like a criminal. I think he deserves a tractor trailer full of new bikes and parts for what he is going through & a movie contract.

Holy s**t, WNG! I'd seen that you were down on your luck, but I didn't realize the extent of your troubles. And to think I "Paid Forward" a crankset for that coose, and how excited you were to help upgrade her bike.

Thanks Doc!
gaucho777 you have a good memory, Yes, for the same woman whom I lovingly refurbished a chromed townie bike and got to replace its cottered crank with your Raleigh crank.
I went on to get her 3 additional bikes, a GT cruiser, Schwinn Super Le Tour, and Bianchi cross-hybrid.
She screwed me royally. I plan to get a book deal first, movie will have to wait.

NOS Suntour FD, other FDs for parts, Shimano Golden Arrow shifters
Inspired by seeing this thread revived, and by rccardr's generous Shimano 105 offer, and by WNG's story, I wanted to see the thread kept going. I don't have anything as nice to offer as some of the great stuff that this thread has seen generously passed on, but I've got a pile of FDs that I'll give away for the cost of shipping, figure a buck or two will cover it:
Suntour AR (perfect NOS!):
Shimano Golden Arrow (rusty but could be oxalic acid treated and revived):
Shimano Deore XT ("Deer Head") (for parts or reviving, missing clamp bolt):
Shimano Sora road double, braze-on (for parts, threads for braze-on attachment are stripped):
I also have a set of Shimano Golden Arrow downtube shifters to give away. The metal bits are rusty and would need an oxalic acid soak, but otherwise the set is serviceable. I'll even throw in shipping on these:

Geeze, this almost isn't worth it. If BF can't get their attachments to work.
They work for me for a few minutes then vanish. I will have to upload them to flickr and then link from here, but I generally don't like to but BF-related pics on flickr. At least flickr always works. Give me until tonight.

I've got an old stem from a 70s Schwinn varsity and some dia compe brake levers that came attached to an old set of bars that I picked up recently. The stem is not too pretty, but the levers seem like they're in pretty good shape. I'm not too familiar with these old parts, but the levers do not have any "spring" to them (not sure if they're supposed to, but I thought I'd mention it). I'd just want the cost of a small flat rate box covered via paypal.

Pm sent on the stem
I don't think those levers are supposed to spring.
Hey, Montgomery County? I used to live in Gaithersburg. I really liked it there.

I tried to PM you back, but don't have enough posts. I sent you an email using the "Send email" option though. Let me know if you don't get it.

Have: One campagnolo record globe logo hood, not on a lever and intact. Has patina. Can you get it back on without ripping it? I really can't say. it is still somewhat pliable but feels delicate. Prove you need this to complete a set and it's yours. No charge for shipping either.
Please respond by PM.

I appreciate that, but I have had one original globe logo hood in my box of parts for the last 7 years and it has done me no good as a single. I would like give it to someone who can make a pair or has one falling apart. This is suited to an early to mid 1970s bike with patina that is all original or close to it. That is where I would like to see it go.

Soviet Era Tubular
I bought an early 80s Polish bike at a swap meet recently (bought it for the nice Campy parts it held). One thing it had which was slightly unusual, but for which I have no use (and doubt there is a big market for) was a Soviet era tubular:
It holds air. Sort of. I don't think it would be of any use other than for a wall hanger. I believe I can roll it up so it fits in a small USPS flat rate box. If you want it, let me know.
