A Typhone? But I don't know much about Schwinn middle weight bikes. Your dogs are adorable.

Look for numbers. What & where you find them is important.
|
No idea on the bike, great picture though!
|
What is the wheel size? If it is 26" non S-6 tire size...some where in the 80's if it is S-6 tire (Schwinn Proprietary) it would be older.
Aaron:) |
That DOES look cool, and it reminds me of some of the bikes the early mountain bikes guys like Joe Breeze and Gary Fisher were originally modifying for off road riding in the very early days of MTBs.
See if you can find a serial number and I may be able to narrow down the bike's age. It should be either on the rear dropout or stamped near the bottom of the head tube at the front. PS: Nice Dogs! |
Thanks
I'm going to have to get back to you with the numbers. I guess the bike is stuck in a shed due to snow drifts. And I'm stuck in Iraq and not there do dig it out.
Thanks a lot though! |

http://www.trfindley.com/pg_schwinn_cats.htm Probably a 58 Tornado or Flying Star. The Typhoon had a frame similar to that in 1962 but the twinn bars went all the way back to the dropouts. more info here on all three http://www.schwinnbike.com/heritage/...3&page=1&pp=15 |
great links! thanks!
