Can you ID this road bike?

I'm guessing it's early 90s.
I can't find a serial or any form of ID on it. But even the paint doesn't look like an after-market job, so I'm really confused who made this bike.

Handlebars - Sakae Champion (now Sakae Ringyo)
Handlebar stem - SR (now Sakae Ringyo)
Derailer set - Sun Tour (now Sakae Ringyo)
Cranks - Tourney
Brakes - Dia Compe

Photos tell the rest of the story...

Date would be more mid to late 70's

Might be a Concord.

I couldn't really find a good photo of a concord freedom (since it's probably not a freedom deluxe, judging by the components)

I found a photo of a concord, however it didn't say the model. That one had different lugs and a different looking headset.

Thanks for the lead though.

You guys think its worth 30 bucks to ship it to my home? (I'm on vacation for holidays)
Or just scavanger the parts I want and donate the rest to a local place here?

Could it be a Nishiki (or American Eagle)? The head tube lugs and fork look very similar to my Olympic, but the seat stays and binder look more like an older custom sport. That maroon is also a pretty common Nishiki color. So maybe an earlier olympic or something between those two models? What is the serial number? (if there is one under all that filth it looks pretty bare) if it starts with a "K" i'd say it seems like a good bet it's a Nishiki.

but you think its worth mailing?!

The frame ain't a gem. The "chrome" fork crown tells you about all you need to know. Good for a rattlecan fixie/SS conversion or campus beater. If the paint was better maybe keep it but it'll need some hours. I'd scavenge.

To be perfectly honest - I don't think it is worth the $30. I think you could find a similar bike at any local thrift store.

I would say that it's a low grade department store type bike from the 70's or 80's. These bikes are a dime a dozen now.

I think the only thing going for it is it's size - it's quite a small frame and that could be it's saving grace.

It probably rides OK and would be reliable transport though.

Best of luck,

Gary.

That looks mighty entry-level. About the equivalent of a Nishiki Sport. What you have there is technically referred to as a "beater". Hopefully it fits, and you can build it into something inexpensive and reliable.

I do think I'm gonna ditch the frame before I go back home.

However I cannot get a bike like this at my local thrift store. In Portland (home), these bikes go for like $50-150 on craigslist and are rarely found at the thrift if ever. But if you know about Portland, you know why. I've already turned an old Firenze and an old Prince into Fixies and sold them for about $300 more than the parts and conversion cost me.
Friggin bike crazy town.

Thanks for the advice from everyone.

If you found it at a yard sale would you pay $30 for it? If the answer is yes, ship it home, if no, then don't. In my area, I don't think I would go as high as $30, maybe $20, but I'm not in Portland. It sounds like you can flip this for a heckofa profit.
