What is a fair asking price for a

complete build set from my Nishiki road bike? The components will consist of Shimano SIS Exage Sport 6 speed RD, double FD, 170mm crank arms with 130 BCD, 68mm BB, F&R Brake calipers, F&R aero brake levers with original hoods, down tube indexed shifters, all cables are new housings included, additionally two 700c aluminum alloy 36 spoke rims that have been trued within the last month. Front hub/rim is a Sugino/Araya, rear is Millard/Millard with 13-26 freewheel is as new condition, original chrome skewers as well. Forgot to mention a 52/42 Biopace ring set will come with the package. I think it would be a great set for someone looking to restore a vintage frame. The components function perfectly. I was going to photograph and list on eBay. What say you all? Lp

My 50 plus brethren suggested I inquire here.

Sounds pretty good up until the "Biopace" part. :p

If you're planning to sell on eBay, that's where I'd do research. A lot depends on the condition, but even more depends on what people are willing to pay. Offhand, I think that stuff is worth at least $125.00 - possibly a little more - but if you're taking it to eBay - there's no telling what you'll actually get.

eBay will likely give you your best price if you're willing to ship the bike, the market is pretty skewed right now during winter, although its a great time to work on bikes in my opinion.. but not to many people sell during the winter time cause they think "no ones looking". So if you wanna wait till spring to list it you can probably get more for it then you would now. What could you get? Hard to say.. But on ebay I would guess anywhere between $150-300 ballpark. If you wanna sell locally.. well I bought a bike with complete exage group and quad butted cromoly frame which should be similar to your nishiki locally last october for $60 bucks.. I do live in a smaller town so usually laughter is appropriate if someone tries to sell such a bike for $150-300.

I would say far less than $100.
I bought bikes with far superior components for less than $50.
But then, I also live in a smaller prairie community.

if you live in a decent sized city I would say use craigslist..... people are more ready to pay more because you dont have to worry about shipping since they can pick it up.

I would say in philly on craigslist for example it would easily sell for $175+ you could even get $225 ish for it if your lucky and the paint is shiny... also be sure to point out the wheels are 700c, because they are usually only found on "nicer" bikes

Let me clarify its just the component set not the frame. The frame is a real sweetie, 64cm CrMo Kawamura handmade ----- I'm about done installing all new Ultegra components. Lp
