Fiamme Yellow unferrelled clincher rims?

Fiamme Yellow unferrelled clincher rims?
Anyone know these? Do modern tires fit and stay on? Got a pair I want to use and build but don't want the problems I've had with blowoffs on the old Weinmanns.

Yes, that sounds like the Fiamme model 71. Stick to tires with steel beads, not too narrow (28-35mm) and not too high a pressure (i.e. 90 psi or less) and you should be fine.

I have an NOS pair in 700C (waiting for when I finally find a nice old Bottecchia Special as they were original on my old bike) - they are definately old school with straight walls. My originals back in the day were shod with Clement clinchers, wire bead in 27 x 1 1/4, rated at 100psi and not knowing any better back then that's what I pumped them up to. Never had any problems. When the Clements wore out I couldn't find any more 27 x 1 1/4 that were rate to 100psi and I believe I ran 27 x 1 1/8 at 90psi after that.

Yes they were. Nearly all the rest were rated at 75psi. Too bad 'cause those old Clements were really nice. Those tires on the Fiamme rims probably had a lot to do with my old Special seeming like such a nice ride. That and nostalgia
