Help with Tommasini Tecno EL OS

Hi,

I have a Tommasini Tecno road bike frame, made from Columbus EL oversize tubing which was described by the previous owner as having been stored for many years and which he inherited. Its never been built up and is near perfect condition . Can you please help me date the frame and recommend what campag groupo would have been of the same period so that I can complete it. The colour scheme is a midnight blue with pink sprayed highlights, including the top third of the forks (also Columbus EL). The bottom two thirds of the forks are chromed as are the majority of the rear stays. A Campagnolo Brev headset has been fitted. The front “T badge” is metal and enamelled.

Thanks,

Mike

no one's answering because we are upset that we don't inherit anything like this. That would have had a late model (90's) C-Record grouppo to be ultimately cool...

I'm guessing the Tommasini Tecno did'nt show up until the late 90's. I use to have early 90's and mid 90's scanned catalogs of Tommasini and dont remember Tecno being in the line-up.

Contact Tina at RideTommasini. She has a direct line to the factory in Grosseto, Italy and has been very helpful in identifying my '91 Tommasini.

good luck

mmmm, Record C then, if late 90's. Best deal out there in campy land. 8-speed is a particularly good deal...

Tommasini Tecno EL OS completed

..and this is how it was completed. Decided not to go the classic route as proved very difficult to get good quality used parts. I also wanted a bike as light as I could spec it that used the best of carbon and titanium to match the best of steel...a bike to be ridden.

All new/NOS except the wheels which were used.

Tecno 1995 Frame and forks Columbus EL OS, 2009 Campy Centaur Carbon compact groupset, Titanium seat post and skewers (both PMP) Titanium quill stem (Look), carbon Deda Spectrum handlebars, Selle Italia SLK carbon railed saddle (to be replaced with white Selle Italia saddle when I find one), Campy Record headset and seat post bolt, carbon bottle cage, Campagnolo Eurus G3 wheels with Schwalbe Stelvio tyres. Please ignore pedals (nasty Japanese.. Sh you know who).
