have the stays rebrazed -it's just short of a failure and imo, not safe to ride the frame as it is.

There's really only one way to find out how long that you can ride a cracked frame before such cracks deliver a noticeable structural liability, but I have terminated cracks with a drill bit and then ridden some few thousand miles with no subsequent growth of the failure.
So I would tell someone who was insistent on continuing to ride a cracked frame to at least put a stop to the crack with a drill bit, and to keep searching for a frame/bike replacement opportunity. |
