I have a 1978 Varsity. Is it fairly easy to add fenders?

Yes they were made for fenders. Just find the right ones not all the old lightweight Schwinn fenders will fit all lightweight models. I found this out when I had to make a special lenght hex nut for mine. Find some that came from a Varsity or Continental.

No. Unfortunately they are for a 26 inch wheels. You need the ones for a 27 inch and which are not as wide.

These would work but are sort of dinged up.
