Hirame Bicycles
I know I probably should know but...
I just restored a Hirame racing bicycle, -lovely lugged ishiwata steel frame with a fish on the front. Does anyone know anything about Hirame ? I know its japanese and around 1980s thank you! Tony. |
Some pictures would be nice.:D
(Beat you EastHill:p) I have no ideas about the bike or the maker but it sounds nice. |

These have turned up a couple of times in the past, always in Britain. The previous samples were entry level models with hi-tensile steel frames made by Kuwahara. You definitely have a better one as indicated by the Ishiwata tubing. Fortunately, Kuwahara used an open format serial numbers. Typically, they are located at the bottom of the seat tube, format yy mm xxxxx, where yy = year, mm = month.

Ahhh great thanks. Sadly I think mine is lacking a serial number!
Rides great though, and by shear coincidence I found a pair of 'Sake' -Japanese rice wine, Handlebars to match.... made in England though.. Oh well. Lovely bike to ride. |
