NAHBS - Reports from Portland

I'm on the ground from Portland, found some free WiFi to hop on with the laptop. Waiting for Dr. Deltron to get in on his flight before heading for the hotel. I'll be posting photos, updates, and all sorts of other information I'm able to.

Don't have time to post individual photos, but here is ALL the photos I took today in a single .zip file.

http://thecuda.com/NAHBS_D1.zip

They've been resized down to 800x600ish for easy viewing and not a huge download (5.36mb or so)

Jeff, by the way, we need you to track down truman for us, so that he can be forced to cough up photos of his Crescent, if that's all right with you?

Great pictures! Jon, I've never seen a quadruple chainring like the one on the Da Vinci table. I wonder what the derailleur looks like.

I'll be there in about thirteen hours.

Oh my! that green Ahearn is just soooooooooooo beautiful. The dual tube forks remind me of the ones on my ladies Humber.

If it's all right with you, I'll throw these up on a web page so they're easier to view. I'll go ahead and do it...just let me know if you want me to take them down.

Yes they are. There have been some interesting mixes of new frames with old parts, mixes of new parts and old on new frames, all sorts of cool combinations.

Also, thanks for throwing those up on a web page for me. My photo album software died on me on my web server a few months ago and never got around to replacing it.

I'm charging my batteries (both my body and my camera batteries) for the day tomorrow. Should be tons more photos to come. Shifty, hope to see you around the show, and anyone else who'll be there. Look for me in the blue BikeForums T-shirt or one of Dr. Deltron's Free Corky T-shirts. Not sure which I"ll be sporting tomorrow.

Just in from having a great evening with Donnamb, Dr.Deltron and X136. Sixty Fiver, great to talk to you on the phone a bit. Night all from Portland!

Gosh, what would the Consumer Product Safety Committee (CPSC) think of the "Bull Horn" handlebars on Craig Calfee's Bamboo bike! http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...r/bambonut.jpg

... Better not crash! OUCH!

It was good to hear you too Cuda... I'm so sorry that I could not be there in person to enjoy the evening with y'all.

I'll be expecting updates and more pictures from the show tomorrow... I figure that I might be able to go down to the bike shop for a few hours tomorrow and might even bring my daughter's "new" bike with me since I will be getting a ride.

It's a 1973 Raleigh 20 inch bike with a 3 speed SA hub and it will be getting a complete tear down and repaint before I build it back up for her.

I'll be taking a few pictures of my own tomorrow.
