Pedal Question
I saw some campagnolo pedals at the local bike coop that looked similar to old Look pedals. I have look pedals on my current bike, will my shoes fit those campy pedals also, or are they different? I assumed that the pedals are like everything lese in the bike world and that there is some small difference that makes them incompatible, but maybe the do work.

The cleats should interchange. Shimano also used Look cleat pedals in the late 80s/early 90s. I believe the Campys are from about the same time frame. Look probably made both or licensed both companies pedals. Roger

The pedals are actually manufactured in France by Look and are compatible with Look cleats. All Campagnolo did was designed an improved cartridge spindle for them.

Just to trivialize this thread a little: it occurs to me that for a brief period there was harmony between the 2 big component makers (Big C and Bigger S) and LOOK, the first (viable) clipless pedal...and it was all because they followed the LOOK standard for cleat design. So brief...there's no standardization in that area anymore!
(I still have a pair of the Shimano pedals that use the LOOK cleats, and they still work fine). |
