how is a Cinelli 1R stem made
 

OK, this may reveal my total lack of knowledge in the manufacturing realm, but here goes anyway. Can someone tell me how they made Cinelli 1R stems? Is it cast? 2 pieces then put together? I can not find a seam anywhere. Am I just really slow?

I think they're forged.

Cast, the quickest way to get close to shape, forged for grain orientation, and strength, then machined after that, hand finished which removed the casting marks and forging scars... then anodized, then assembled... the bagged

Actually for all the work involved, they should have cost more back then.
