The music system is the most important part of my C&V shop, . I'm running a pair of audioengine A5 powered speakers with an iPod as a source. Not bad and very reasonably priced.

The middle of the condo and this is pretty much it.
Currently looking for a house, but inventory is super-tight here. Lots of great shops in this thread for inspiration!

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Started on my spring cleaning and sorting and re-arranged things so I'd have better room for working on things like vintage Santana tandems...

Clean and Tidier Workshop for Lunar New Year
Too tired today from climbing the stairs from basement to 2nd floor multiple times yesterday doing some plumbing.
So looking at Sixty-Fivers cleanup and with next Friday being Chinese New Years, it's customary to purge and clean house. The shop needed some rearranging so I don't trip over bikes, parts, and other stuff. Also, the Best Buy 1080P 22" TV was enhanced by plugging in some old Altec Lansing computer speakers with a subwoofer. Makes a good evening TV room while doing some wrenching/polishing.
It's too dang cold to tackle the garage.

This was a good project for a cold winter day (max of 18 today). My shop serves many purposes in addition to bike work. Repair and creation of things related to the property, the tractors/mowers, the motorcycles, wife's horse equipment and structures and on and on. Sometimes I get to wrench on the bicycles.
As you can maybe see, the shop in half below grade so it holds temperature well and gets the mid day sun. Wood stove in the corner and sound system along the rafters. Being a multi-purpose and needing to switch roles quickly, I have no room for a proper bike stand but hanging the bike from the ceiling on an old innertube works just fine. I tie it off to the vice if I don't want it to spin. I also built a portable stand so I can flip a bike over and set in the handlebars and the seat while still protecting the components. Very stable. Wrenching the airheads before I dove back into cycling means I already had a full set of metric tools and I've bought some bike specific tools and home made the others.
There is a 2 inch thick sliding door (packed with insulation) between the shop and the 'machine room': keeps the heat where I need it. The last photo is one corner of the machine room. The Nishiki is doing mule service on the trainer this winter. The bikes share the foor with the mowers, the rototiller the chipper and the big Toro. 22 degF in the machine room this morning. Takes me 15 minutes on the trainer to start shedding layers. No sweat dripping on the towel though. No wind chill either.
This is the busy place in the winter for cycles and motos and busy in the summer for lawn equipment. Wood working anytime. Cheers

I didn't lay the tiles. You could tell they are pretty old, probably almost as old as the house (1940). They are also 9x9, which is smaller than the current 12x12 ones that are being manufactured today. Armstrong does make tile similar to this today, but the grain is less pronounced and the colors aren't quite as bright. I did have to replace about 15 tiles, a carful look can probably spot them.
