Thanks for the info, GC! I will keep all of the suggestions in mind, but regardless of style points I am going to let my butt decide.

Great Story and wow, what an amazing bike! I got my '72 Paramount from CL and had the subsequest "e-bay firesale" to fund the purchase. It is amazing what you can live without when Paramount ownership hangs in the balance! Again Congrats!:beer::beer:

Terrific find - Congrats.

But I have a different take on the saddle. I'm from the group that can't tell a Brooks from other medieval torture devices, but I think the Avocet O2 Air 40R is the most comfortable saddle ever. Unlike Brooks, they're no longer being made. From the prices they're recently fetching on ebay (see example here), I infer that my favorable opinion is shared by at least a few others. If it's in good shape and photographed well, you may be able auction if off for enough, or almost enough, to cover the cost of a B-17.

While I agree that the Avocet O2 Air 40R is one of the most comfortable saddles I have ever ridden, I hold that comfort and practicality have no place in C&V cycling ;) And I'm not a fan of Brooks saddles on post-70's racing bikes so in this case a Selle San Marco Rolls would be the perfect saddle IMNSHO :) A white one even with matching bar tape.

Beautiful bike by the way.
