Which bottle cages?

Ok I know it is a bit silly, just thought I would get your opinions on which water bottle cages I should use.

the King cages

or the Elite cages

or other recommendations?

I vote for the Kings.

mrt10x 02-24-08 09:11 PM

If I knew how do a poll I would have. :)

poprad 02-24-08 09:18 PM

red

roseskunk 02-24-08 09:20 PM

yeah, use the elites and i'll give you five bucks each for the kings, especially if they're titanium... :)

mrt10x 02-24-08 09:22 PM

^^
always someone looking for a deal :)

revolator 02-24-08 09:25 PM

As Warren Buffet once said

"The Elites are for parading and the Kings are for riding"

I think ;)

cyclotoine 02-24-08 09:27 PM

Definitely kings, the others are too thick and domineering. What are the kings made out of?

mrt10x 02-24-08 09:29 PM

The Kings are the hollow Stainless Steel ones. No way I was going to pop for the titanium for a bike that already weighed in at over 20 lbs.

mrt10x 02-24-08 09:30 PM

Maybe I should send the Kings off to be powder coated red? :)

I clicked on this thread ready to post "get some King SS cages."

So, King.

Ex Pres 02-24-08 09:56 PM

The red doesn't really match. Go King.

Kommisar89 02-24-08 10:44 PM

Depends on what bottles you're going to use. If you're using standard white plastic then go with the Kings. If you're planning something like those sweet red bottles that Bigbossman has on his bike then the Elites would be nice.

John E 02-25-08 09:05 AM

My red cages do not quite match my red paint, either, but I like them. :)

Neither. Arundel.

Little Darwin 02-25-08 11:13 AM

The Elites look a little strange to me, plus I like my Kings... so that is how I voted.

mrt10x 02-25-08 11:21 AM

Hey thanks for the poll. :)

I might put those on the Calfee..but not the steel bike.

Picchio Special 02-25-08 11:26 AM

Nos. 3-6 go in the back jersey pockets, then up through the peloton to "Perico" as quickly as you can. Don't make him wait for a drink, or you'll be on the "C" squad that has to race in Belgium next spring.

caterham 02-25-08 01:21 PM

a silver REG, O.M.A.S or Cobra would be my first choice but the stainless King's would do just fine, imo.

Ok.. google searches showed me nothing on those cages. Well a couple of ebay links which I cant use here at work. Anyone have any pics?

caterham 02-25-08 02:54 PM

they're just examples of the better vintage italian alloy cages that would likely have been used on your pinarello when it was new.

carpediemracing 02-25-08 03:00 PM

Either the ss cages shown or the Elite SS cages (they have a red/silver button where the elite has the chrome things.

The red in the cages is off, it's like playing a 7th, equivalent of colors screeching on a blackboard.
