Do this qualify as classic?
I bought a Kona Eighty-Eight. It is an old schoolthing so does it qualify me as having a classic, or am I a wannabe? I am also thinking about getting a New Schwinn Cruiser.

While not technically a classic it does emulate one quite well. Nice looking bike.

geez, are those real or fake wooden rims? That is a real looker.
Edit: "Wood anodized" that's a new one! |
Dat is a great looking bike, but it aint no classic. kinda like new mini coopers or vw bugs. a nice modern interpretation but not a classic. There is still hope for you though, buy an OLD schwinn cruiser.

great looking bike. Destined to be a classic. There is a Amish wood shop areound my way that has a sign up, "Antiques made daily" .

Hmmm. One seemingly immutable law of collectability is that items that are intended to be collectable usually end up not being collectable. So, I might guess it will not be terribly collectable. On the other hand, who cares? If it is a fun or useful bike to ride, then you win.

Looks like a fun bike for urban cruising and trails. How does it stop though?

At this time in it's life it is neither vintage nor classic. I really think the word classic is misused much of the time. A Raleigh 3 speed is a Classic as are many other bikes.
