How about some titanium love? My '92 Miyata Elevation 8000 Titanium MTBl Period upgrades: Gravity Works Pipe Dream brakes, Cook Bros Crank, Samson Ti BB, Scott bars, Ringle Ti Stix skewers, Rock Shox Magnesium fork that still works (lowers are repainted). Since these pictures I have also replaced the Miyata downtube decals. The top tube decals have been impossible to come by.

It says invalid attachment for me. Could you try embedding the picture directly in the post?

That's a fact! Project bikes are for the winter and rainy days, so you don't lose your mind. Finished bikes are for riding and showing off in good weather! Speaking of which, here is where I've ended up with my Elevation 8000:

1984 Miyata 710, ~57 cm frame which is unfortunately too big for me. Will likely cannabilize for parts to complete 1986 710 frame I have in the garage. Too bad as the '84 frame is in better shape than the '86.

This is a recent CL purchase. Has Araya tubular rims with some new but scary looking IRC Paperlight tubs.

Here's my 1000, I think I posted it in another miyata thread. Still haven't finished it up yet, still need an appropriate 1" headset and to install the brakes. The other thing is I'll have to ride it and go somewhere I guess. I also dated it wrong and the s/n says it's an '87 but I refinished it as an '89 since I'm a rube.t

1984 Six Ten, picked this up for my wife last summer. She has only ridden it once and hated it, not a fan of drop bars and DT friction shifters apparently. I have a Nitto stem, North Road handlebar and Suntour Thumb shifters ready to go on but just can't bring myself around to changing it from it's original condition. I still have the original tires.

1987 miyata 912. all original components except for pedals, i'll pick some up after i finish my overhaul. overhauled BB, RD, FD, hubs, freewheel. just need new tires (still have original miyata tires!), tubes, brake and shift cables/housing and probably some new bar tape. still undecided on tires.

That bike is Awesome, it looks new. I'd only have to change the saddle to a Brooks of some sort. What a beauty.

Thanks, it really is a lovely bike. I'm thinking a Brooks B-17 Imperial would do nicely.

1986 Miyata 710

This is the '86 I referred to in post 386. Cleaned it up and will ride for a while to decide if it warrants further investment of time and $. Also posted in "Before and After" as After. Haven't touched the '84.

Here are some recent shots of my '79 912 purchased new by me back then in Boulder, CO and recently updated with Sachs New Success 8-speed brifters, topped off with a brand new Selle An-Atomica saddle that finally provides a good (for me) riding position on a proper leather saddle.

Look's great!

Nice that you kept her for 34 years. You must love the ride. Nice update to.

I would roll those bars down though to get the drops abit more horizontal to the ground, just for asthetics, but other than that, she's a beauty!

I've been playing around lately with the handlebar angle, but the drops horizontal has never worked for me - I spend most of my time on the hoods. And at my age (64), I'm not likely to be getting significantly more flexible.

Good man!

Glad to see your still riding. You keep those bars in any position you like!

I'm in Denver and frequently ride in Boulder - my in laws live there. I'll keep an eye out for that beautiful black 912. You'll see me on a blue Surly Trucker with upright bars wrapped in purple cotton tape.

I've owned an '87 310, an 89 1000LT, and I just picked up a near-mint '86 610 in "claret red" for my wife. She calls the 610 cranberry, and it has some nice sparkle-flake in the paint. And of course it has the clear-coat that the touring bikes got back then. It's a beautiful looking bike. Lucky I found a 45cm 610 for her chained up on the sidewalk outside an antique shop. Probably not many made in that size.

I still own the 310, which has quite a few new parts. I overhauled it completely in 2010. Sadly, the 1000LT was slightly too tall for me (at 56cm) and I sold it almost two years ago. The 610 is mid-overhaul. I've done everything except the rear derailer, cables, and tires.

OF course I can't find any pictures of any of the bikes. Tomorrow...
