I can't stand just looking at all the beautiful Miyata's you got there. I have to post mine too but since I am a newbie maybe later on after I figure it out how to post images.

This is my 81 210 mixte. I think this on is mostly original, I think the fork may have been replaced though.
(this was the first test ride and the front brake was too tight, thats why the brake QR is up)

Picked it up last fall and I've always struggled with whether I would keep it. At 50cm it's one size too small for me. The toptube is 52 and I really fit 53 nicely. It does show a lot of seatpost for a traditional geometry frame, I'm okay with the amount of handlebar drop.

Well, I just picked up a Miyata 215ST, touring bike. I believe it is a 1987 model based on catalogs and component codes. Bike has a few upgrades/changes, with aero-levers and bar-cons. Otherwise, it looks very original.
I bought it on ebay, and avoided shipping charge to hold down cost. Got a decent deal, not a great deal. But the bike is extremely clean, I bet it doesn't have over 200 miles on it (it has the original tires).
Serial number is OW 6109 (I may need to double check it).

Right now, its for me. I flipped the Univega Gran Turismo that I had (it was a tad small). This bike is so clean, I think I'll keep it for a while anyway and see how it rides.

How does Miyata measure frame size? I have often heard people say that, for example, a 60cm Miyata will fit more like a 58cm. Did Miyata do seat tube length to the top of the top tube or even the top of the seat tube?
I have been looking for a 1987 912 for forever and want to make sure if I should look for a 60cm or a 63cm (the two largest sizes as spec'd by the catalogs).

timely cause I just happened to put this Ridgerunner up for sale and uploaded the pics to this photobucket album:

I'd keep it if I could, it's a really nice mtn. bike to make a commuter/tourist of...too many bikes and limited space

YES! Exactly like that! Except in like a 60cm size. I am really looking for just a frame as I have an almost full NOS Shimano 600 group to go on it. But I would totally buy a complete bike. I just love this particular year of the 912 for some reason. Love the paint scheme...

Note: geometry of one of their touring bikes is likely different than a racing model.

This is my 1982 Miyata 610 (Six Ten)... It was touted as a touring bike back then, with Randonneur bars, a Sakae Custom Triple, Suntour V-GT-luxe rear and Blueline front DR's.
It is very light and fast, despite proudly displaying a High-Tensile label on the front forks.

Hi Zaphod -
The tires came with the bike. They're "Specialized Touring II" , 27x 1.00" (clinchers). I don't know that they are "radial" per-se (I would not know how to recognize a radial tire) - but they are quite round, and roll well.
I don't think they are made anymore, but thankfully they're in excellent condition, so I won't be replacing them soon.

No they likely aren't radial.
I only ask because the 610 was one of the Miyata models, along with the 1000 and possibly one other, that came originally with radial ply tires. They're a bit of an oddball thing that I find interesting.

Sweet bike. It looks almost exactly like my 1985 Miyata 710 except the saddle and handlebar tape. How do you like it?
