Bianchi Value
 

There's a mid 80's Bianchi Alloro on eBay and I am wondering about the value. It has Modolo brakes with Campy drivetrain, but there are no good pictures of the components and the seller is not up on bike stuff. I was wondering if anyone knew what typically came on this model. I think it is probably original equipment throughout. Thanks!

For me, it would depend on knowing what the fork and rear triangle are made from. I never understood tretubi. Are the forks and rear triangle made from hi ten? If so, I would pay no more than $200.

This is why, instead of a bianchi tretubi bike, I bought a trek 600 in the 80s . I knew I was getting reynolds 531 main tubes and a tange fork with tange stays.

Having said this, I have nothing against bianchi. In fact, my bianchi tsx rides great. I also had an alloro from the late 90s---kind of nice, however, it was HEAVY. In fact, the year after my late 90s steel alloro was made, they started making them out of aluminum.

The price is too high for a midrange groupo that probably has lots of miles on it. You could get a comparable Japanese bike for much less. The Columbus SP/SLX are worth bidding on but not tre tube.

The old Schwinns used Tre Tubi/Tenax and they were quite good and often sold cheaper than the fancy Italian Celeste paint schemed Bianchis. I would recommend finding a tenax Schwinn...They are so classic and great value.
