Regular versus Compact Brake Levers

I am looking at putting either the Tektro 200A or compact Tektro 100A brake levers, which are basically the same as Cane Creek SCR5 and Cane Creek SCR5c brake levers respectively, on my old steel bike that has downtube shifters. I haven't been able to find any locally to inspect though, and I am wondering what is the difference between the regular and compact versions of these levers, besides "reach" to the levers, if any. Is there also any difference in the dimensions of the hoods or is the part your hand is resting on the same? Thanks if anyone knows.

From what I can tell, the 100s just have a shorter reach, though I bought mine over a year ago and they may have changed since them. I have the 100s on my girlfriend's and the 200s on mine. She is happy with them and she is quite small with small hands, she rides a 50cm (square if we can find them).

the hoods are the same size and dimension... the only difference is how close the lever is to the bar. I have both and prefer the compacts because i tend to ride with two fingers on the lever. They are very similar and I have medium large hands, long and skinny...

Great. Thanks for the quick replies! Positron, I have heard of other guys with medium to medium large hands preferring the compact version as well, so it sounds like they are not only appropriate for women or guys with smaller hands as marketed. I think I am going to give the compact version a try.

By the way, I plan to use them with some new, long reach (47-57mm), dual pivot calipers. I am assuming that the cable pull in both these regular and compact brake lever models will work well with dual pivot calipers, correct?
