Identification Help

I believe it's a 1965 Schwinn (determined by serial #) but don't know what model it might be.
Any clues? Here's 1 pic of the frame. If you need others, let me know. |
Probably a 1970s Huffy. Roger

well that sucks.

I'd have to agree. A '70s Huffy was my first vintage bike, I learned lots of stuff working on it. Not worth building up though, if you just have the frame. (In my opinion.)

no i have all the components and they seem to be in fairly serviceable condition. luckily i found this in my grandparents garage. i guess I'll just clean it up, maybe paint it, and just make it into a single speed beater bike. the thing that sucks is i was looking forward to maybe putting together a vintage bike from something found. guess i'll have to keep looking.
i just got into bikes so i have already learned a ton by just taking it apart and reading through the forums and sheldon brown's site while trying to clean it up and figure out what type of bike it might be. |
Find out your size, keep reading this forum, and be patient. It's a good way to find a great bike!
|
i'd rock it

Found a bike.
Raleigh Super Grand Prix w/ Suntour/Sugino components on ebay $56, no shipping, I can pick it up. Hope it works out OK for me. Any tips, tricks, info, do's, dont's, etc. are welcomed. Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ksid=p3907.m29 |
the derailleur, of course, is really a suntour. the front derailleur is a replacement, I believe. the stem shifters are, again, suntour, badged as raleigh. The super grand prix is a grand prix with alloy rims, bar end shifters and upgraded drivetrain. they really are a good riding bike, far beyond their cost when new. You'll have fun!

I believe you hit a solid double, maybe a triple. Great deal. When you pick it up post us some pics.
