Wheel size compatibility.

I have some old size 630 wheels on my mid-80's panisonic. I'm looking to get a new set FSA wheels, However they don't sell, and in fact i've been hardpressed to find size 630 wheels in any brand I've looked. I need to know whether or not I could stick 700C on them without trouble. Or If there is some other size that would do well. Any help would be great. thanks a bunch.

700c wouldn't be a problem if your brakes have enough reach, but the 700c rims are 622mm, not 630, so that is only 4mm difference in height of the pads. Your rear triangle may need to be cold set if the new hubs are wider, which they may be.

Hope this helps

Harriscyclery.net has the 630 (27") wheels you need. Sun makes rims, so does Velocity. I've got a set of 27" wheels for a fixed gear project; Harris' hubs(Formula) and Sun CR-18 rims with DT Swiss spokes.

The 630 rim fits 27inch tires, usually 27x1-1/4.
