Campy hub cones
So I managed recently to get my hands on a set of old campy high-flange track hubs (I think Gran Sport, maybe Record). Only problem is that the rear hub is missing all its guts (axle, cones, locknuts...) My question to you sagacious fellows is this: If i've got some other vintage campy hubs lying around, can I cannibalize them for the cones? Is the taper the same across the board or are there relevant differences? If the latter is the case, I could post pictures of the hubs and maybe get a little guess-and-check?
PS. Another question: anyone have a good way to polish these things without abrading them? |
Polishing? Mothers on a cloth polishing wheel on a dremel.

Harrris Cyclery has what you need. Scroll down almost to the bottom.
Not NOS campy, but really cheap, even if you only need 2/5 of the set. Don't know about cannibalizing. But a pair of Campy track nuts will set you back $50, so you may as well get the new stuff |
