OT: Modern Bike Sizing Question
Hi all I know this is a bit off topic in this forum but I need help with a couplebikes goign to e-bay for auction. I am auctioning two bikes I showed in the "catch of the day" thread a few weeks back and both are relatively (1990's) modern. A Univega touring bike and Jamis road bike.
The question is this: Both bikes have 56cm center to center top tube measurements and 52cm center to center seat tube measurements with stand overs of 31" & 32" respectively. The issue is that the stand over and the top tube measurements are more in line with traditional 56cm size frames and I have them listed as 52cm. Would these frames be considered "compact"? How do I size them correctly? Anyone? Help! I am really only familar with vinatge frame sizing. Below are pics! To me, a compact frame has a sloping top tube. Yours fit somewhere between traditional and compact, I suppose, although some older frames in the shorter sizes had surprisingly long (and anatomically incorrect) top tubes.

I would just list all the measurements. Is the reason that they have tall standover because of a higher BB? Maybe those bikes were originally listed C-T for the seat tubes, and as such were marked as 55-56 cm bikes.

I would list all dimensions C-C, and list the seat tube and the top tube dimensions separately. Standover height is always nice, too.
