Expert advise-Simoncini titanium frame??

Igot a Simoncini titanium frame, there is a thin crack on the top tube, at over the rear brakes cable exsit from his tunnel (see the pic for reference, these are my SC), the crack is ~ 0.2inch, the previous owner don’t know when and how it happened since he is not the original owner, also, he don’t know on accident history also, I didn’t pay for it yet but it will be at less the 100$ (frame+cf fork, 600 headset, campy 26.8 seat post, and Sella Italia seat)

What would you do - ride it/ complex surgery / simple welding / would you invest $ in this frame?

What could have made this?

is there an expert in the house?

sorry no pic's fof the frame now

I have never had good luck with repairing parts of frames. I have had good results with replacing damaged components, but I think that this would be out of the question for Titanium. maybe.

a welder qualified could weld the crack up and it would be good as new. probably.

I betcha that'd be a little pricey. I certainly have no one here that I could count on to do that.

Where are you located?

That can likely be repaired. I'm in Upstate, NY and can think of two "local" places to get that fixed. It shouldn't be that much if all it needs is indeed a new weld.

West coast-ish I would try Dean, Moots, or some other local bike builder...

I have never seen a titanium frame with internal cable routing, maybe this is why...?

Would that be a good investment to repair a frame like that?

Dose anybody know this builder?
