Old Puch...Need Info
 

I just found an old red and white Puch bike in the garage. I am considering starting the restore process. I have found some pictures on the web and it appears to be a Puch Brigadier. I am having trouble putting a date of manufacture on it. Is there a secret to the serial number that may reveal its manufature date? Also, is or was the Brigadier a decent bike in its day? Thanks for the help.

Does it look like this. I think it's straight 531 tubing, not too light but worth riding. This was a coworkers I helped shine up and tune. The Suntour power ratchet stem shifters are one of the better stem mounted versions.

That is it exactly. Same colors, logos etc. I'll have to admit that the one in the photo looks to be in much better shape than mine currently. What year was the one pictured manufatured?
