Coming soon: Cinelli Super Corsa

This is a NOS Cinelli in China Blue, built with Campagnolo 9 speed DT shifting. I missed it twice, and both times the buyer flaked out. Now, it's mine. It will ship tomorrow, and I'll have it in hand next week.

Stay tuned.........

Finally moving to the big leagues, eh BBM?

The bike is a beauty. I had just visited the site to see if it was still gone. Glad it has finally found its rightful owner.

Newish - 1999-2003 somewhere. The important facts are that it is still NOS, China Blue (my favorite color), and my size (56cm). Campy Record 9 speed, with record hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro's.

The pic is off the web site, so you'll see it as soon as I do!!

That is a pretty one. Hmmm, soon enough that pantographed Merckx he has is going to get rotated out to the curb. All you locals out that way keep an eye out every week on his street before the garbage truck rolls through his neighborhood. You might get lucky.......

Since BBM can't even remember what it looked like, or what was on it, here is a link:

Lose the saddle and bar tape, and you got yourself a nice ride.

I talked to BBM last night. I think he said 11-23. He'd like to trade someone for a 12-26. I'm sure he'll chime in when the youngster finally wakes up.

Yeah - 11/23 in the back, and 53/39 in front. Totally unsuitable for me, but the bike is so pretty. Besides, it ain't nuthin' to swap in a nice 10 speed triple group.

White Cinelli cork tape and a white Selle Italia Flite or Selle SM Concor. That would be hot.

But if you keep the corncob on the back and the 39t on the front, you'll have to walk up hills, and I might finally be able to keep up with you.

I've managed to suppress my lust for a nice vintage Italian road bike so far, but the Super Corsa is sooo seductive. Nice score, BBM!

I'd take the Brooks any day over anything else! Mine, bought new 1984, original seat replaced with a Brooks!

But yeah, I don't care for the Cinelli cork bar tape, need to change out mine too.

Nice ride

+1 on losing the bar tape though.

I would keep the Brooks for the comfort

Link, please.

I've never ridden a Brooks, so I may try it out. Then again, I may just move it along as a NOS saddle on eBay.

The bar tape is a goner for sure, as are the tires. Those 20mm tires are too skinny for my tastes. White cable housings? Hmmmmm..... The Mondia I have has white tape and housings, and looks pretty spiffy.

The DT shifter stuff will remain for the short term, but this bike will get converted to modern shifters pretty quickly. The questions are whether to stay with 9 speed or go to 10, and whether to go with a compact double or a standard triple. I may just strip the group as soon as it arrives, sell it off on eBay while it's new, and use that money to rebuild this bike into something I can ride.

Decisions, decisions......

White Vetta vinyl tape, or the electric blue vinyl bar tape that Loose Screws sells (as Pastor Bob has on his '62 Continental).
