Steel toe clips for Shimano "aero" pedals

Hey all. So, I have a pair of older Shimano A550 pedals that I really like on an early 80's Miyata. Today on the way home from work, I missed the clip taking off from a light and the clip scraped the pavement and the tip of the clip with the strap loop broke off. Now, the clips that are on there are beautiful shiny stainless steel, but the only replacement three-hole clips are cheap plastic ones. Can anyone help or do I need to be in the market some new clippable platform pedals?
