Front brake for my Patamount track?

My P-14 is drilled for a front brake. I have no clue if it was done later(it's a 76, btw), but it was an option originally. I say original, that's my story and I'm sticking with it. So to add one travesty to another, rather than searching for a nutted front brake, will drilling for a recessed brake be a no no?
Crap, I can't even spell Paramount,
