raleigh super course questions
 

Next project is a raleigh super course with a girl's type step thru frame with the top tube as 2 smaller tubes that sandwich the seat tube.
I am having a hard time finding the serial number online to figure out its vintage. Manu in Japan, suntour ARX derailleurs, serial number is
3E00206
All of the searches I have found show the older models which have horizontal top tubes, racing styling.
It also has 555 SL tubing. Whose is that? Raleigh? Japanese?
Also how do you size it, seat tube was 19.5in or 50 cm c-t

Probably mid-later 80's Raleigh USA asian frame. 555sl is pretty good tubing, this is a "mixte" frame, not a girls frame. Bike is measured same as usual, center of BB to top of seat tube. You can do a "virtual" measurement from the seat tube to the head tube along the line a top tube would have followed if you want that measurement also.

With what I've been ablle to cobble together, the 3 in the first position of the serial would denote your bike was manufactured in 1983. As to what the rest of the letters and numbers mean- I haven't a clue.
