ID this headlight

I just picked up a Ross. I'm not sure of the details yet but it has a headlight like this on it.

No1?

It is what I used to call a "block" generator. It mounts on the front fork blade and projects a feeble beam in front of your wheel...made by a whole host of manufacturers. I have seen Soubitez, Marchal, and Sanyo just to name a few. It is of interest to a few vintage enthusiasts for the "proper" look. Me I much prefer the modern halogen or LED lights.

Thanks. Mine is a Soubitez. Are they still made? I mostly wanna restore it but I'm missing the lens

Not worth it to do anything with it. Not particularly a quality piece, and if you look enough, you'll likely find a better example floating about on eBay (something like this should go for peanuts up there), or locally (likely on a '70s Schwinn - these were available as Schwinn Approved components, if I recall right).

Yes, I had one on an old Schwinn Varsity, and it was stamped Schwinn approved. I think the guy I sold it to chucked it when he turned the bike into a fixie.
