A couple to add via my own collection...

The first is a 1986 DX-3000 (all original aside from a Shimano 600 crank)

The second is a 1989 PICS Team bike built for Phileppe Lauraire (not sure if it is THE ex pro French cyclist or just some French dude with the same name)

The Panasonic PR-6000 build is nearly complete. Just need to hook up the derailleurs, shorten the chain and adjust the saddle position and angle.

Well shoot. You can see a gallery here https://panasonicbikemuseum.info/the-...r-6000-debuts/

I'll try to fix the image links.

The images are working fine for me (well, maybe that's because you fixed them).

Also, holy cow, what a bunch of great activity on this thread since the last time I looked.

Just did a short ride on my 1988 DX-3000 after putting an 8 speed 105 sti group on it. For a mid-range bike it sure rides nicely.

My Hi Ten DX 2000 is an excellent riding bike, better than my Reynolds 520/ Carbon Fork/Post/Bars Jamis Satellite.

Sweet AR-6000. I haven't seen one with black rims before but I dig it! I need to give mine a little attention soon as well.

I really want to ride it but I think the seatpost is a hair too short. Proprietary seatposts

If you truly want to ride it, then I would have a competent welder TIG a seat post that you like to the shaped lower section that you cut from the existing seat post. If done well, and polished it won't look horrible. Hell, sacrifice a Dura Ace or Campy post and still retain the aero look above the frame.

Looking good!...

I love my PR-6000...very competent handling bike.

I run Veloflex Masters on A23s on mine...really smooths the ride.

Yes, beautiful bike, but what's up with the cable housing at the rear derailleur? It seems to be at least half again as long--maybe twice as long--as it needs to be.

The cables aren't installed yet so it hasn't been officially trimmed to length yet. These were just quick photos once I put the wheels on.

Thanks for enlightening me. I feel like a nitpicking dick for even bringing it up.
By the way, I really like the orange housing. Is that similar to the color that was on there originally?

An 89 DX 6000 frame-set that I built up this past weekend with parts that I had laying about. Nothing original other than the Shimano 600 headset. I traded three 6 packs of beer for it.

No worries. The catalog spec bike would have had white housings but I decided to play off of the orange in the bike mainly because my wife loves orange and also because I had never seen one built up the same way.

Well that is a score for sure. I have my eyes open for a mint '89 DX-6000 but I almost never see them. I'm sure you'll enjoy the ride!

In March or April of last year I was fortune enough to acquire this rare new old stock '89 PICS Team Custom frame and fork. It had been found in a storage barn in German Valley, IL and had belonged to the owner of Naperville Cyclery in Naperville, IL before the shop went out of business in the early nineties. When the shop closed, the owner had apparently stashed some of his remaining inventory in storage where it sat until the spring of 2012.

Since I didn't have any Sante equipped bikes in my permanent collection I decided that a new old stock Sante build would be just right for this unique old frame and fork. It took a great deal of hunting to assemble the parts with 98% of them being new old stock. (The rims, brake calipers and down tube shifters were the only lightly used parts.) Elev12k will likely see one part of the bike that came to me from the Netherlands as well.

*The shifters aren't yet hooked up since I need to get some cable liners to protect the bottom bracket shell first. The cables in the photos are decoys.

I had a Panasonic DX-3000 that I sold a few years ago. it was a bit small and it was that bland silver blue color, but it rode like a dream! I figured I'd never have another without seeking one out.

2 weeks ago, my nephew texted me that a guy he worked with had a bike for sale for $50. I told him to send me a pic. I nearly dropped my phone! It was a gorgeous 1987 yellow and black DX-3000. I have ridden it several times and it's a perfect fit! I haven't even cleaned it yet; that'll be next month!
