The remaining 25% of the time, I'll ride one of the others, just to refresh my memory as to why I like STI so much. Again, just my opinion on this. I do not use friction shifting unless I feel like I need a wider gear choice, so every once in a while I will steal a 9 speed rear wheel from one of my other bikes, slap it on the Pana, and switch the lever to friction mode. This does not happen often, but it does not bother me because I know the friction mode is temporary. Like I said, though, if I only had to pick one setup, it would probably be 9 speeds with indexed DT shifters. |
