My new Corsa
3 Attachment(s)
I've been on the hunt for a Merckx Corsa in Faema colors for some time now and found this beauty rotting away in TX. After hours of toil scraping, sanding, de-gunking and polishing, I've brought it back as close as possible to original. I'm not yet set on the saddle. If anyone out there in C&V land has any Shimano 600(I can't believe I'm running this stuff) parts they'd like to part with, let me know. Pics below...

You did a wonderful job! That bike looks great :D .
What parts are you looking for, specifically? East Hill |
Very nice, indeed. I have a soft spot for Faema. Looks to be an early Corsa, with the flat fork crown. What is the serial number(both sides)? How's the fit? The Professional model that another forum member is still thinking about selling is very nice, with full Campagnolo Record Pantographing, and is a 55.
In a month or so I should have pictures of my very early Professional Faema Replica, complete with Eddy's face on the head tube, and a full pantographed Record gruppo. It has a flat fork crown and under the BB cabling. I like the red tape on yours with white cables. I went the opposite on my AZ Faema, white tape and red cables. To be honest, I can't remember what the MI Faema has on it at the moment, I only had it for a day before I left for AZ. |
Nice!
Guess I"m off to ebay with mine...... |

I have red cables and white tape for when the fashionista in me decides that it's time to change. I found a pic of this 85 frame in a catalogue and it showed red tape and cages, white cables and black saddle so that's what I went for. It's really taken a bit work for my legs and brain to get used to the DT shifters and six speeds. Once it's rolling, it's a beautiful ride, but starts from dead stop and the steep hills in my area take a bit of planning. |
