My Pinarello Rebuild is Getting There
I repainted and rebuilt a Pinarello Cross bike and am experimenting with differnt configurations.
Its first incarnation:
Then, I decide I want an "All-Rounder/All Day Bike".

Personally, I'd go with the drop bar configuration, but it's really all about what's more comfortable for you.
Really nice job on the refinish.

The paint job is gorgeous. I vote for the drop bars, but I am highly biased in favor of having lots of hand positions.

Thanks for the feedback. I got it powdercoated. I couldn't afford to do the lugs differently. It has been fun to mess with. I have been having alot of numbness in my hands. Drops didn't seem to help with different hand positions. I went to the Rivendell site and got a Nitto stem the is a high rise stem and have tried that too. Still to no avail. I must be getting old. I'm willing to sacrifice comfort for style. I still haven't found a real comfortable set up form my hands. I'm just getting alot of numbness in my hands and haven't found a happy spot for them yet.

With the Nitto stem I've shortened front to back distance from handlebars to seat post by 6 cm. I am able to bend my elbows and am not up too straight. I've been trying out the test saddle for Brooks too. It is not comfortable unless I am at least level with the handlebars and seatpost. I rode the current set-up today and did pretty well on the hands for the first half hour. My hands then began to be numb again. Additionally, the saddle seemed to need the nose tilted up even more. I'm getting a little frustrated and considering that it may be the frame geometry that I cannot change.

Not to spend your money but I would try a set of Nitto Noodle dropbars. I am 6'1' 190lbs and they solved the hand numbness issue for me. I had used straight bars, ergo drops, albatross and moustache bars previously. I have mine (46cm width) level w/ the saddle on one bike and a bit below the saddle on another. I find them very comfortable.
With the upright style bars you have on the bike currently, you will have to tilt the saddle nose up a good bit so as no to slide off. One of the reasons I did not like the albtross style bar was the super upright position. I hope that info is helpful and good luck.
