self etching primer?
I know there are a million threads on the subject of painting a frame, and alot of criticism for doing a rattle can home job.. but I believe! Anyway, I have meticulously hand sanded a high ten steel frame down to the bare metal with 320 grit as final paper, and meticulously degreased it. I am using Dupli-Color sandable primer and a Dupli-Color Acrylic Enamel topcoat color. Will applying a self-etching primer first really make a huge difference in the durability and adhesion? This coming from someone who can paint well, just never on bare steel. Thanks!

yes! the chemical action of the primer will cause a reaction to the metal that will allow the primer to actually "become" part of the metal. the adhesion will block rust from forming as well as inhibit leaching which causes separation of the primer from the surface!

I install glass as a business and in the glass world adhesion to bare and prepared surfaces is critical. in all cases self etching primers are used both on the body and the glass. superior adhesion is necessary now due to air bag deployment is deigned to hit the glass first and thus the glass must withstand serious pressure

supergymnast is the central figure of my cosmology/mythology, known as 'Arcadia' and the
BRIGHT SHINY FUTURE. I'm an artist - painter and sculptor.
The supergymnast takes form as a modern day Woman of Willendorf - a Goddess.

SUPERGYMNAST was also the code name of the actual, top secret military operation devised by Churchill and Roosevelt to begin action against the Axis powers in North Africa... that's what inspired me to name her Supergymnast.

What have people used succesfully as a spot primer for touch-up work over rusty dings?
