Ah yes it took awhile to adjust to the rust, blisters, dirt etc, but this way it has it's own 'beauty' and yes although the water bottles/holders should be on the downtube it was a ehh non destructive add on so to speak. It really gives the entire bike that oemph look :-)
But than again i have no objective opinion :)

And no it won't be a rider on event's it's just standing in the living room.

Here is my wife's new old bike. A Tomos, which is a Slovenia brand of mopeds. However this bike was made in Holland, in about 1973.
Our neighbour gave it to us. it was het mother's bike.

When we painted Kroozer's Zieleman we ran into same issue, badly peeling chrome 'socks' I discussed it with David and his thought is if the prep work was done well and there isn't too much crud under the original chrome it's doable and shouldn't compromize the tubing too much. When we blasted off the existing chrome the stays were pitted from years of neglect. David and I both agreed that an extra layer of epoxy primer would seal the pits (nothing too deep) and sand down well enough to not show. I've heard too many horror stories of bikes being ruined at chromer (galvanizer?) to bother with it. David uses a guy who does custom Motorcycle parts here in Dallas and even then spends many more hours prepping the frame.

Well it's not 'horrid' however my personal opinion is that a 'proper' Zieleman should have the Ko Zieleman decal.
I don't have picture on one except a very unclear photo of a bike in the Zieleman shop from a few years back.
I will take photo and post it when I get back home next week.
As for the headbadge, it's the typical one I've seen, Zieleman across the top? with rider on a bike.

Pullup gave me a set of black decals for my long-term project (Zieleman piste-frame) of which it's the idea to ask Leen for the repaint as well. Fingers crossed he's willing to. Now for a nice colour to choose. I was thinking of white, but procrastrinating on the final decision.

Jah that's the one. I have at least 2 NOS badges plus one or two RIH badges that I will not part with easily!
If you need the color codes I used on Kroozer's bike let me know, and I know where to get decent decals.
I'm also going to send Gary (decal person) photo's of what the W/C stripes should look like.

outstanding to work with, and being waterslide were easy to position correctly.

Those look pretty good Marty:) and probably are easier to apply compared to my own 'laktransfers', altough i don't think Leen will have a problem with those.

That is pretty cool indeed! Though I wonder why on the sheet, Zieleman is spelled with two N's?

The only thing is that Gary won't deal with individuals, has to be purchased from framebuilder/painter/refinisher.

Presto Jan LeGrand 1978 Campagnolo NR. This bike is from my own year of birth. This week i have been riding this bike alot. Yesterday as a commuter during the day and in the evening for a big lap 34/km/hour Ringvaart. This one wears me out but I like to ride it hard.

Excellent, just what I wanted to see! It's a true grail bike, Wouter. High flange hubs, full NR and that saddle fits perfectly.

Seriously, 34 an hour? We should ride out together sometime soon, so I can stayer in your wheel and sharpen my personal best.

Yes 34/km/hour but not that much harsch labour upfront from this guy. Actually I was very tired from the day before and my commuting trip of that day. A little bit afraid after my promise to join that evening. My partners were some haute categorie dwarfs (quintana midgets). Among them an Iron Man. At home completely battered hanging on the couch as a couch potato with saliva almost drooling out of my face.

The Jan de Reus frame has a very interesting Galli needle bearing headset fitted. A quick web search taught me that this is model Super Criterium. Not often seen and very durable.

The FullPro-L was one step up from the FullPro, what was pretty much the Team Miyata equivilent.

I have several of both. Both great bikes. The FullPro-L uses slightly lighter tubing (FullPro = Tange #2) and is built somewhat steeper. There is also some difference in frame detailing. For example the wrap over stays >>>

The 'regular' FullPro shows caps with 'Pro' or 'Koga' engraved.

The FP-L has lush thick LF ends and (vertical) SFR dropouts that for the most part are left unpainted. The FP has still nice Shimano ends and dropouts (always horizontal) where only the flanges are left unpainted. The FP-L has a braze on for the front mech. Not very common for a 1980 frame. Some other finishing details are slightly more luxerious, like reinforced bottle bosses.

Nice frames. FP-L as the pinnacle of Koga with a nice Reus example. A lovely late 70s early 80s colour schem on the REUS.
There is a real nice REUS gem for sale at this moment 56ct http://link.marktplaats.nl/717231236 . I agreed earlier on with a preveous seller to pick that markplaats bike (that frame comes from a bike which has been split up) up with nice goodies such as REUS Campagnolo clothing Campa tools and SR group. 74 year old bastard sold it to another guy. Never like to get f*cked by the elderly people....

That is pity, Wouter. Elderly people can't be trusted ;) The fact that it would be too small softens the pain a tiny bit ...maybe. The Reus frame under the link is very nice. If I were in the market for a frame that size I would certainly participate in that auction. Reus is about the best I've ridden.
