Even though I have a Jan DeReus and a Springfield, I have always wanted a Gazelle. I passed once on an AA-Super monostay and regretted it ever since. So this one came up on fleaBay and I pulled the trigger. Just one pic for now. It will likely get Campa NR.

Gorgeous colour on that Gazelle and Buldogge's Vittorio Strada Max is something really special as well.

I sure agree with Pullup on this one, great colour and fantastic frame! You don't see too many fully chromed rear stays on CM's.

I thought that was the case (the chrome) and that made it easier to maybe pay a bit more than I would have preferred. With the full chrome forks, it is a striking frame. I am looking forward to riding it to see if it has the "Dutch mystique" I have experienced on my other Dutch frames.

The Presto resto

My winter project build is now coming along past the painter stage.
Just a reminder of how colourful it looked from when Don spotted it for me on Marktplaats



I decided on restoring it in the original colour although i have a gold Zieleman already.

Together with the painter (Leen) we scraped away a little patch of the blue paint and looked for a good colour match.
I already had some Presto transfers for Leen to work with ( the bands and headbadge) It was the first time he applied these 'laktransfers' as he did his usual perfect job but unfortunatly still had to improvise a little bit on the 'model campagnolo ' script.



This Presto frame is build as was usual with a little bit different detailling compared to the one i own already but i think it came out very elegant.
Of course the usual Presto chromed fork, square brakebridges, open fork ends and pantoed Andreas-crosses on the seatstay are present.



In the mean time I swapped together a Campagnolo super record group and I am sure it will look great with those black accents on this frame.
One little setback is the diameter of the seatpost i have is 27.2 and this frame seems to require a 27.0
If anyone has something in that size i am happy to swap

It had suffered the same treatment as the frame itself and was painted blue. I removed all the blue paint and out came a pretty looking Aluminium headset marked: Ft Bologna Italy.
Never heard of it but it is very very light and appeared to have been very well made.

The bearing balls are somewhat smaller then the Campagnolo ones and it took me some time to find new ones.
Actually it was a good system as the balls fitted nicely into a bearing groove to hold them in place which made installation easy.

After you posted the first pics of the Sprey i have even seen a couple of them rolling by in Amsterdam Maarten, nice bikes.

I just had a look at the Sprey bikeshop when I was picking up the Presto as it was walking distance from where I picked it up.

Ok guys, this is mine, finally thanks to my dutch friend Robert I will get this one soon.

I dont know that much about the brand, so far I can tell this has to be like an early 80's model, reynolds 531. What pays me attention is the "model campagnolo" script in the chainstays and this brings a question from me, what is this "model campagnolo" decal means? looks like several dutch builders used it aswell, anybody knows???

Congrats on the frame, I had been bidding on he bike as well. Not high enough obviously Very cool De Reus!

The 'Model Campagnolo' decal can be found on many Dutch handbuilds, but as far as I know only on frames by the smaller builders. So not on Batavus and Gazelle bikes. It just means that the bike was equipped with campy all he way, where it was also common that you could order your custom handbuild with any mix of parts you preferred. The fact that it's in the rear stays is somewhat different from what I've seen, as the decal normally is placed on the front part of the toptube, where yours says 'Jan de Reus'. So that frame is kinda unique

Nice! And as a born Zwanenburger I am - of course - quite partial to Jan de Reus' products. I've got several, and this is the one that gets the most miles. Not built by Jan himself, BTW, but probably from a Belgian framebuilder. I've taken the bike to Jan's successor in the shop in Zwanenburg, but he couldn't tell me who the builder was.
