if you have a nice price you sell quite easy. if you want to earn big money, sell abroad. i only have met on ***hole at MP, a "handelaar" bike dealer from the south. this guy was really rude. but thats an exeption. alomst everyone i have done business with, where nice people. what are you seling?

Here's the updated chart. The ones on the yellow lines are mine. The build date of the green 1965 Super I'm very sure of, because I have got the original receipt. The late 1948 / early 1949 build date of my red Super Course was estimated by Wim van der Kaaij. He has a bike himself with a frame number that is very close.

The others bikes are examples that I've come across on the interwebs or MP; some of them in this forum.

For those nerds who actually wonder what a 1965 RIH receipt looks like:

It says:

Received form mr <name witheld> the sum of five hundred and twentyone guilders and 25 cents for the delivery of a Super sports bicycle number 7698 complete with Campagnolo derailers, hubs and crankset.
Amsterdam, April 10, 1965, signed W.G. Bustraan.

Me too! And the fact that someone kept it all these years also shows the bike was treated well and cared for.

Btw that's a lot of money for that time, is it not?

I like seeing those too. There should be a section on Velobase to store those.

I recently found a Fongers-Rih, branded Rih-Sport, at the trash. No seatpost, flat tires, rusty parts. Frame was alright though. I posted it in the 'look what I found/saved' thread, or whatever it's called. Shall I check that framenumber for your database?

Welcome to the club! And yes, I think that was about a month's salary for the average worker in 1965. Before taxes.

That must have been a very expensive bike in 1965

Motobecane (probably 4-speed, gaspipe): f 238,50
Gazelle Sport Super Licht (8-speed Reynolds 531): f 408,-

Interesting. It seems that the bike tested in the "Kampioen" in 1965 was a pre-production model. No mention of double-butted Reynolds 531 in the brochure. No tubing decals to bee seen in the pictures either. Yet 1966 was the year they started their race department and Campion Mondial production AFIK ...

such a nice receipt. And who still writes like that? Most people I know of the iGeneration just write unconnected letters, and do it really sloppy for a lack of practice.

I am not of the igeneration, but my handwriting is really bad (always have been).
I do agree that it is a nice receipt, complete with stamp. When I bought my Nagasawa, I got a receipt written in Japanese.

That is a seriously cool bike! So glad it's not my size. Thanks for the info. I'll add it to my database here. As for worth? I believe the appropriate Dutch expression is "what a fool will want to give for it". Which is at least € 435 by the looks of it.

That's cool, these don't come up that often! With the right documentation it should be in a museum. Hell, it should be in a museum anyway! Notice the same guy is selling a nice Jacques Anquetil with barend shifters in the same colour as the Anquetil track bike for sale in the same dutch city. Something must be up...

currently the highest bidder is a trainer from velodrome sloten amsterdam. he almost bought my own rih. but unfortunately (for him) the former owners' widow granted the bike to me because she did not want the bike to be hanging behind a glass window.. but the gold one might suit this place better!

Then I hope he gets it, before some hipster gets it to do some jumps on&off the curbs (actually saw one do that and other respectless stuff at the Rih-tribute ride on a really nice classic Rih track bike)

So I’m driving into my shop with a load of bikes and a guy in a pickup pulls up next to me at a light. His truck is loaded with junk and I see a bike in there.
We look at each other, we both point to a gas station up ahead, and I bought this Rodeo Sports (Netherlands) from him.

Now That is what I call a typical Dutch bike! Great find!
