Can someone explain this for me? And its not a Super LJ...

I sold one of those a while back, the GT version and it went for substantially less.

Granted, it wasn't in as good condition.

When Velo Orange was selling them for $90, Chris said that they shift even better than a Super LJ due to the steel cage. Maybe the bidders bought the hype.

Thats the thing.....how can that shift better than a steel caged Super LJ? Someone bought some kind of hype....

I think I saw one of these at the local bike salvage place, but I passed on it because I wasn't familiar with a metal Simplex - I thought it was a cheap alloy copy of their plastic ones. But if someone will pay $73 for it, maybe it's worth the trip back there to dig it out, clean it up, and offer it for bait?

looks to be a peugeot badged simplex sx410 standard cage- a relatively decent and durable( tho not at all inspiring) derailleur that retailed for well less than half of the winning bid amount when it was brand new. the long cage variant was the SX410GT that came as standard equipment on late 70's/early 80's UO9's and UO10's.

If you guys are going to look for these try to find ones that are all metal. All metal Simplex derailleurs should be Super LJ's. Anything with plastic is not.
